The Jungfrau region

Raise your eyes on Freihofstrasse and the great four-thousand-metre peaks greet you every day: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau stand like a protective wall above the valley. Unlike narrow mountain valleys, Unterseen, thanks to the breadth of the Bödeli, enjoys plenty of light all day and an open, unobstructed view.

For anyone who loves the mountains, the property is a remarkable place to live: the whole Bernese Oberland lies at your feet. In winter you travel by train or ski bus, without fuss, to the ski areas of Grindelwald-First, Mürren-Schilthorn or Wengen-Kleine Scheidegg — at the weekend you make the first tracks in new snow without ever sitting in a traffic jam. In summer and autumn, hundreds of kilometres of walking paths, high-alpine via ferratas and demanding mountain-bike trails draw you out. If you want to clear your head after a long working day, lace up your running shoes and climb the 700 metres of elevation to the local mountain, the Harder Kulm, to take in the panorama over both lakes.
